Born and raised in south Louisiana, Lance grew up with a passion for giving to others. From an early age he joined youth organizations centered around giving back to the community. For over 20 years, he was a volunteer for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and traveled to assist with activities in four states. Dressing up in costumes has always been a fun pastime as well – starting early by joining the Clown Crew in 4-H while still in elementary school.
As time went by, work and life got in the way of some of these passions. In 2016, the work life balance was thrown for a loop when Lance was asked to move back to his home state of Louisiana and work in Baton Rouge. It was good to get back home and back closer this his immediate family.
Flash forward to the pandemic in 2020. A spark was re-engaged. During a time of darkness and being apart, Lance tried to rally some fun in the “new normal” of video meetings. Lance started dressing up in costumes at different video meetings to bring some joy to the teams that were working remotely. From Batman to Darth Vader, Mario to a crying baby, pretty much nothing was off limits. Many people enjoyed a bit of laughter to help them get through the time.
2020 also was the year that Lance discovered 10/31 Consortium. From the first moment that Corey Tullier told him about 10/31, Lance knew he had to be a part of it. He jumped in to the madness with both feet and has not looked back yet. The whirlwind started with the Black and Orange Bash of 2021 and it has been an actual whirlwind with parades, costumes, and community. Lance has been the Programs Director for the past two years and leads the charitable branch of the organization. Lance also became a Forever Moon in 2023 with a lifetime membership in the organization.
Lance is also known for his quick wit and sometimes sharp, sarcastic tongue. One of his favorite sayings – “Sarcasm, just one of the many services I offer.”
Lance is honored and pleased to serve as King of Halloween for 2023 and celebrate our 13th year of this fantastic organization.
