Fifolet Halloween Festival Celebrates a Spooktacular Success for 2023

Baton Rouge, LA – The Fifiolet Halloween Festival concluded on Sunday, October 29, with a fun and quirky Awards Brunch celebrating the festival winners. This year’s festival theme, “13: Fears and Phobias,” captivated all attendees, proving once again why it’s the most anticipated event of the spooky season. In the true spirit of Halloween, Dana Carbo and Nicky Mines, 2023 Festival Co-Captains, hosted the brunch dressed as the twins from the 1980 horror film, The Shining.

“We couldn’t resist,” said Carbo, laughing. The duo entertained the audience with haunting expressions and an innocent charm while announcing the 2023 Fifolet Halloween Festival winners.

“Being a part of bringing so many people so much happiness has been really rewarding,” said Mines. The Fifolet Halloween Festival is just one of the ways 10/31 Consortium brings Halloween joy; the organization also hosts a free costume giveaway. This year over 500 costumes were given to children who otherwise would not have one. The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank also rolls in the Halloween Parade actively taking non-perishable donations from the crowd and reported collecting the equivalent of 965 meals.

In addition to announcing all festival awards, Saundra Lane was surprised to win the 2023 Kelley Stein Supreme Award.
