The Fifolet is part of Cajun folklore. It is a magical and mischievous blue flame that appears deep in the Louisiana swamp. Legend says following the Fifolet will lead you to buried treasure and many have lost their lives to a watery grave chasing the fortune it guards.

Brought to you by the charitable Halloween krewe, 10/31 Consortium, the Fifolet Halloween Festival is a treasure trove of Halloween celebrations each fall in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This multi-day festival, with origins starting in 2010, boasts a wide variety of events including a costume ball, pub crawl, 5k, arts market, parade, and awards brunch.

Join the horde in search of booze and brains!

Get ready to stumble through the night at the Fifolet Halloween Festival’s Zombie Pub Crawl in Baton Rouge, where the undead come to life in the most spirited way! This adults-only event invites you to unleash your inner ghoul and join a horde of fun-loving zombies as they shuffle from one bar to the next, with cocktails flowing like freshly-spilled blood. The atmosphere is electrifyingly eerie, as participants don their most grotesque zombie attire, complete with torn clothes and gory makeup. Amidst the moans and groans, you’ll find yourself dancing to killer tunes and toasting to the afterlife with fellow creatures of the night. It’s a night of fiendish fun that promises to be drop-dead delightful!

The Fifolet 5K Race, a highlight of the Fifolet Halloween Festival in Baton Rouge, offers a uniquely festive running experience along the scenic Mississippi River levee. This thrilling event features three categories: a one-mile fun run, a standard 5K, and the distinctive Pumpkin 5K, where participants carry a pumpkin as they dash to the finish line. Encouraging runners to don their most creative costumes, the race embodies the spirit of Halloween with a playful and competitive twist. Participants are rewarded with stunning 4-inch sparkly sun catcher medals that are as memorable as the event itself. Additionally, all runners receive high-quality dry-fit moisture-wicking shirts, ensuring comfort on future runs. This combination of fun, fitness, and festivity makes the Fifolet 5K a must-do event for Halloween in Baton Rouge.

Live music, good food, and witchy crafts!

Join us at the spooktacular Arts Market of the Fifolet Halloween Festival in Baton Rouge, where family-friendly fun is brewing! This FREE event is located on the levee green across from the River Center, this fang-tastic market offers a ghoulishly good time with live music that will have you grooving all day long. Sink your teeth into the pumpkin pie eating contest or carve out some fun in the pumpkin carving competition. Little monsters can trick or treat at the vendor tents and enjoy the pumpkin painting station along with other frightfully fun activities. Haunt the vendor tents, overflowing with eerily creative arts and witchy crafts, each piece casting a Halloween spell. It’s the perfect place to hang out and get into the Halloween spirit while waiting for the eerie-sistible Halloween parade to roll by!

As twilight falls over downtown Baton Rouge, the Halloween Parade weaves its way through the streets, a spirited celebration blending eerie charm with community spirit. Decorated floats, bands, dance troupes, and costumed characters captivate the crowd, tossing candy as they pass. From family-friendly areas along the route to lively zones near 3rd Street, the parade offers something for everyone. Notably, the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank leads, providing an opportunity for spectators to directly donate nonperishable goods as they roll by. This unique touch adds depth to the revelry, ensuring that Halloween in Baton Rouge is not just about scares, but also about giving back and coming together as a community. The Halloween Parade is FREE for spectators.

The Awards Brunch, a spirited end of the Fifolet Halloween Festival, is a spooky celebration where guests indulge in a ghoulishly delightful array of brunch foods, paired with bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys. This family-friendly affair welcomes little monsters and creates a lively, haunted atmosphere as we unveil the winners of the festival’s eerie competitions. Attendees don their most creative costumes or Halloween-themed garb, adding to the fun and spooky vibe. The event culminates in a ghostly toast to our festival royalty and grand marshal, making it the perfect finale to the Fifolet Halloween Festival.
