Member Survey and Important Festival News

With the vaccine rollout, movement into Phase III, and the recent announcement from Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser, we are confident and hopeful that we will be able to have our usual Halloween events this year. That said, we are moving forward with announcing dates as many other large events are also doing. Please understand this is subject to permit approval and of course, any possible COVID changes that may come up. Permits are not currently being issued by the City of Baton Rouge, however we believe this will be reinstated in enough time for our Fifolet Halloween Festival.

Our next steps are:

1 – Notify all Downtown Baton Rouge churches and businesses of our festival schedule as required by the Downtown Development District.
2 – Officially announce festival details at the Black and Orange Bash. (Dates are already on our website at Fifolet.com and on the festival’s Facebook page.)
3 – Send out a press release with all festival details to local and regional media outlets.
4 – Apply for our permit as soon as they are being issued again. The one date we have which requires a permit is October 30. There will be a 5k on the levee, an arts market with live music on the Levee Green, and the Halloween Parade on Downtown city streets.

We are so excited to be heading in this direction and are looking forward to celebrating with you all again. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting Amy LeBlanc, our Volunteer Coordinator.

Speaking of Amy, we have to give a HUGE shoutout to her and to Saundra Lane for their exceptional work on our upcoming Peanut Butter Cup Mini Golf Tournament. Together, they managed to sell every single hole sponsorship available. We proudly already have 19 teams registered with 3 weeks to go. We are also looking forward to the addition of having the Baton Rouge BeignYAYS dance at the tournament this year. This is shaping up to be a very fun event! Regular teams and caddy tickets are still available. Please join us if you can.
