Fifolet Throw Maker Meetup: DIY Parade Throws

Come make some parade magic with us!

Join fellow 10/31 Krewe members in the Makerspace at the Main Library at Goodwood for a hands-on day of creativity, collaboration, and one-of-a-kind Fifolet parade throws. This is part workshop, part creative lab, and part Krewe hangout—with a few guided projects to help get you started and plenty of room to make your own thing.

We’ll have examples and supplies on hand to help you create a keychain, necklace, or other small Fifolet-inspired throw, and our facilitators will demonstrate simple knotting and other techniques you can use to build your project. You can follow along with a guided project, combine materials and techniques to create your own design, or bring an idea of your own and get help bringing it to life.

The Makerspace gives us plenty of ways to get creative, including a 3D printer, laser cutter, sublimation printer, button maker, Cricut vinyl cutter, and other tools. We’ll have Fifolet and Unsweet 16 components available to incorporate into your creations, including designs inspired by the blue flame of the Fifolet legend and the slasher birthday theme of Unsweet 16.

Bring your own crafting supplies, bring extras to share if you’d like, or just bring yourself. We’ll provide enough materials for everyone to create a project together, and you’ll have the opportunity to learn techniques and ideas you can use to make more throws at home.

No crafting experience is required. Whether you arrive with a detailed plan or need a little inspiration to get started, there will be plenty of people, materials, and ideas to help.

Most importantly, come ready to make, experiment, share, and have fun with your fellow 10/31 Krewe members.
