10/31 Consortium Announces Peanut Butter Cup Mini Golf Tournament Details

Baton Rouge, LA – 10/31 Consortium, the local 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to bringing the children of our area a safe and happy Halloween and plans the annual Fifolet Halloween Festival, has announced its annual Peanut Butter Cup Mini Golf Tournament will proceed as planned. The event, a fundraiser for the nonprofit, will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2021. The tournament will take place outside on the mini golf course at All Star Lanes located at 9829 Airline Highway in Baton Rouge.

“This is such a fun event for the whole family and we’re excited that we’ll be able to safely host it since all activities take place outdoors,” said Saundra Lane, Programs Director for 10/31 Consortium.

Participants on 4-person teams will play 18 holes of mini golf with prizes for best team, best adult individual and best child individual scores. The best team prize is a peanut butter cup filled trophy, the best adult player will receive an orange blazer and the best child player will receive a trophy. “The orange jacket is a really big deal,” said Lane. “It’s just like the Masters, only more fun,” she continued while laughing.

“Professional tournaments are often referred to as a ‘cup’ of some kind so we took that concept and incorporated one of Halloween’s most popular candies, the peanut butter cup,” said 10/31 Consortium Founder and President, Corey Tullier. “The competition can get pretty fierce, some people bring their own putters and even caddies, but it’s all in good fun.”

The element of fun will certainly be present with players encouraged to wear “golf-tastic” attire as well as a dancing performance by the Baton Rouge BeignYAYS. “The BeignYAYS are all about fun for a good cause and 10/31 Consortium is especially close to our hearts,” said Jessica Newsom, BeignYAYS Founder. “It’s going to be a good time for sure!”

Anyone interested in registering a team of four should go to 1031Consortium.com. Team fees of $150 include 18 holes of mini golf, grilled hamburgers and hotdogs, potato chips, 20oz soda, 2 free bowling game passes on a return visit to All Star Lanes and goodie bag. Hole sponsorships for $250 and Spectator / Caddy tickets for $25 are also available. Participants who bring nonperishable food donations for the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank will also receive door prize tickets.
