Yoga Mala

Led by Cecily Criscoe Patin of Radiant Life Yoga and Wellness, the Yoga Mala will take place on the Mississippi River Levee Pier (the paperclip) at 8:30 a.m. on October 28, 2017 as part of the Fifolet Halloween Festival. The mala is a fundraiser for 10/31 Consortium, a 501c3 dedicated to giving the children of Baton Rouge a safe and happy Halloween.

A yoga mala consists of 108 sun salutations. This is a physically based yoga mala; there will be no guided group meditation or dedication other than fundraising for 10/31 Consortium. This series will consist of nine sets of 12 salutations – 10 As and 2 Bs. Each B will include 2 restorative breaths in the final down dog of the salutation. At the end of each set of 12, there will be a 12 breath restoration before beginning the next set.

Each participant should have experience with yoga, be at least 18 years of age, and bring his/her own bottle of water. There will be a warm up prior and a restorative cool down after the mala. The entire series should take approximately 1.5-2 hours. The cost is $20 per person. You will be given a link to pay upon completion of the registration form below. 10/31 Consortium members should log in at the bottom of this page to receive a 20% discount.

Certificates of Completion will be given based on an honor system of how many of the nine sets you are able to complete. Costumes are encouraged but not required. Wear something comfortable that allows for full body movement.
