Jenny Ballard-Mayfield has been the Managing Artistic Director of Theatre Baton Rouge since 2014. The theatre’s mission is to provide the residents of the Greater Baton Rouge area the opportunity to participate in quality live theatre as an audience member, actor, volunteer, or production worker.

In her leadership role at this “Theatre for the community, by the community” Jenny, is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the artistic production of the organization, such as assessing and selecting the performances that will be shown, recruiting actors and performers, setting production schedules as well managing budgets. Additionally, she works as an Adjunct Theatre Professor in the College of Music and Dramatic Arts at LSU and is a proud member of SAG/AFTRA.

She received her B.A. in English and Theatre from the University of TN, and her M.F.A. in Theatre Performance from LSU. She has been acting and directing professionally for over 20 years and was a member of the 2017 Business Report’s Forty under 40 class.
