No Rest for the Wicked

WOW! May was BUSY!!!! I’m sure everyone reading this has attended a graduation, dance recital, school play, band concert, cross over ceremony, or an awards banquet in the past four weeks. Congratulations on making it through. In the midst of all the activity, I hope that you were able to make an event or two with 10/31 Consortium. We participated in two community outreach programs and held our 5th Annual Peanut Butter Cup Miniature Golf Tournament.

Our 10/31 Consortium volunteers helped with The Associated Grocers Food Show. The Baton Rouge River center was turned into a huge grocery store highlighting new products for their retailers to purchase. All leftover food items were donated to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. Our volunteers helped gather and bag the groceries alongside other organizations in the community. Many hands make light work. It is with a heavy heart that we have to say good-bye to Mrs. Amy Sellers. Amy has been our liaison with the Greater Baton Rouge Food bank for the past 5 years. She will be sorely missed. Congratulations Amy on your new adventure and all the new opportunities coming your way.

Our infamous Pouncing Krewe worked the mile one marker water station at the Girls on the Run spring 5k. It was an exciting morning. Our station was the most fun and fully decorated! The girls and their coaches loved us, and have already asked for our return in the fall. It was a purrrfect morning!

We held our 5th Annual Peanut Butter Cup on a beautiful evening in early May. It was a family fun adventure for sure! We had special guests at each hole, like Cinderella, Belle, and Tinker Bell to name a few. I lead the appropriately titled “Turtle Team” to last place! What my kids lacked in stature they more than made up for in putts per hole. We easily had a seven to ten putt minimum per child. We didn’t win any awards but we definitely had the most fun! Congratulations to all the winners of the 5th Annual Peanut Butter Cup and thanks again to our sponsors and Bambi Pizzolato for making this event possible.

No rest for the wicked… I’m off to work on my putt and our next event, the Black and Orange Bash. Hope to see you soon, and I hope you have a fun and relaxing summer!
