I’ve been doing the second line for the past two weeks already. As a parade lover, you can bet I love Mardi Gras. I have made it to 3 out of the 4 Mardi Gras parades we had downtown and even got to walk with the Krewe of Mutts Dog Parade. 10/31 Consortium had a walking group of about 20 people in the parade which helped promote our own parade with black and orange beads tied to dog treats. Everyone had a great time and the crowd loved our pup, Elvis.
Hopefully, you didn’t miss the 10/31 Consortium float in the Spanish Town Parade. We were thrilled ride for our second year. Our “Dynasty Restaurant” themed float threw out fortune cookies advertising our own Halloween Parade, scheduled for November 1. Special thanks to our friends at SPLL for continuing to work with us and help our organization and parade grow. Maybe one day we will have crowd like Spanish Town. After all, even they had to start somewhere!
If you don’t make it to any parades this Mardi Gras, no worries, the most wicked parade is yet to come later this year!
